Purpose of the app

The BLISKO mobile app is designed to support local governments and other organizations in effectively communicating with residents. It enables the dissemination of important local information, such as notifications about service disruptions, events, or changes in municipal services.

Integration with external services, like weather alerts or air quality information, allows users to stay updated on the conditions in their area. BLISKO is a tool that genuinely enhances the quality of life in local communities.

Who was the customer?

AMM Systems is a technology company with a mission to create innovative technologies that enhance the quality of life for residents. The company started in 2008 as the startup SISMS.pl, launching the first mass notification system in Poland specifically designed for local government units.

“Working with Appvinio was very satisfying for us. The Appvinio team demonstrated great dedication, flexibility, and high technical competence. The project execution process went smoothly, and all of our feedback and needs were taken into consideration and implemented quickly.”

How have we done it?

With the existing Blisko app at our disposal, we began by analyzing its functionalities as well as the materials provided by the client, including the design. We then focused on selecting the appropriate technology.

Together with the client, we decided on Flutter, a technology that allows us to create an app for both Android and iOS simultaneously. This choice enabled us to reduce development costs, as well as future maintenance and development expenses, while ensuring high performance and ease of project expansion.

Key features

The primary goal of BLISKO was to create a convenient platform for communication between key organizations and the residents of a given municipality. To achieve this, the app was equipped with a range of features designed to make life easier for every resident.

All messages in one place

Access to the most important information about your area makes life easier. That’s why the BLISKO app features a comprehensive news feed that includes messages from local sources such as municipalities, cultural centers, and crisis centers. It also includes updates from national broadcasters, such as the Police and the Regional Warning System.

SegreGO

So, the waste collection schedule for your area. Few things are as frustrating as missing a garbage pickup day. With SergeGO, you can easily check when to put your bin out, which waste goes in which bag, and where the nearest waste collection point (PSZOK) is located. Plus, notifications will remind you of the most important dates.

Community reports

Illegal dumping, smoke-belching chimneys, or missed waste collection at your home? We all want our community to be a better place to live. BLISKO allows you to quickly and easily report important issues to the appropriate authorities without the need for phone calls or filling out unnecessary paperwork.

Air quality in your city

Concerned about the air quality in your area? Understanding how crucial air pollution information is for our health, we’ve added a module in the BLISKO app that allows you to check air quality. The app continuously retrieves data from local weather stations and presents it in an easy-to-read format.

Chat with your local office

The chat feature in BLISKO provides direct and quick communication with your local office or other organizations in your municipality. It not only allows you to send messages but also enables the exchange of PDFs and photos. This makes it much easier and faster to handle important matters or ask any questions you may have.

What the project schedule looked like

01

Business analysis

November 2021 – January 2022

We began the project with a thorough business analysis. Our team reviewed all the materials provided by the client, including the design, functionality documentation, and API documentation. We identified potential issues and suggested necessary improvements, which allowed us to refine the concept before starting the development work.

02

Development and testing

January – April 2022

After completing the analysis, we moved on to the project implementation. A team consisting of a mobile app developer, a tester, and a project manager worked according to the Scrum methodology. During this phase, we developed the application using Flutter, tested its quality, and integrated it with the client’s API.

03

Implementation and further development

May 2022 –

The final stage was the deployment of the application. After completing the development work and quality testing, we prepared the app for publication. We configured the app profiles in the Google Play and App Store using materials provided by the client. The app successfully passed the verification process and was made available to users.

The results of our work

Together with our client, we successfully created a tool that truly transforms communication in local communities, all thanks to the BLISKO app, which has already been downloaded over 100,000 times. Moreover, it has been implemented in more than 600 municipalities across Poland.

These numbers highlight the significant impact this app has had on improving communication and the quality of life for residents. Through BLISKO, we can genuinely support communities in their everyday lives.
